Changeling (2008) is based on the true story of the disappearance of Walter Collins and the Wineville Chicken Coop Murders. See
Wiki. Yes, I "wiki" and "google" everything. :P I must say this movie deserves a grade A for it's story even though it's based on a true story. I don't know much about cinematography and all that Hollywood stuff but I know a good story when I hear it. Some stories should be retold and retold and never forgotten.
The story of the film is written in another perspective such that it focuses on the mother of Walter Collins. At first, when I saw the previews, I thought this was a movie about an alien child. Which may have been cool? LOL. I seriously had not read the reviews or anything. So, I was surprised. Some of the story differs from the historical records but the main conflict about police corruption is emphasized. Thus, telling us not to forget to fight for justice.
Another thing that came to my mind was how the police tried to persuade Collins to "try" her kid out for a while. I think, psychologically speaking, if you tell someone a lie, you could make them believe it's real under certain circumstances. I forgot where I read about such cases though. Psychology seems like something I studied aons ago. :P Anyways, enough with this gibberish.
I went to the ACE Theater in Taimall, Taoyuan a few hours ago (yesterday) to watch this movie. We were going to watch Australia, but I'm not really into watching Nicole Kidman. I'm biased, I know. There were very few people in the screening room so we got to sit in the nice leather sofa recliners. Best (comfortable) movie experience in a theater ever. (^ω^)
P.S. Currently playing... I posted up Wang Lee Hom's song "Everything" from his Heart Beat album. The story behind this isn't because I'm a huge Lee Hom fan. And even if I was, this isn't my favourite song of his. It's because my mom keeps the TV on 24/7. Now, you may be thinking what does that have to do with this song? Well, let me tell you!!! Everytime the commercial break comes, there is a cm for a certain cell phone with Lee Hom in it -- no surprise. And this song plays at the part where it goes "You are my everything... My everything..." Okay, I must have listened to that like a gazillion times already. So, I got annoyed that I haven't heard the entire song yet, so I just thought I would. It annoys my mom but she thinks Lee Hom is handsome. XD The End.
